Years of Higher VIX Readings Seen After Brexit Reaction
Years of bigger price swings lie ahead in U.S. stocks, according to Jim Strugger, a derivatives strategist at MKM Partners LLC. Reaction to the U.K.’s decision to leave the European Union confirmed that a “high-volatility regime” began last August, Strugger wrote in a report Tuesday. He cited precedents for the CBOE Volatility Index, or the VIX, in 1997-2002 and 2007-2012.
