S&P 500 Earnings Outlook for This Year Brings Deja Vu

Earnings for the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index hit bottom last quarter and will recover throughout the rest of 2016, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. That kind of outlook is nothing new, Gina Martin Adams, a strategist at Wells Fargo Securities LLC, wrote Monday in a report. “Analysts have attempted to forecast each of the last three quarters as the trough as well,” she wrote.
