Russell 2000 Value Stocks Show Staying Power Nasdaq Lacks
Smaller U.S. companies with relatively cheap shares sustained an almost yearlong advance as larger, more expensive peers struggled to move higher. This conclusion can be drawn from a comparison between the Russell 2000 Value and Nasdaq Composite indexes, as Richard Bernstein Advisors LLC made last week in a Twitter post. The Russell index’s rally from a low set on March 23 exceeded the Nasdaq’s corresponding advance by 38 percentage points as of Thursday, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The gap widened to a peak of 43 points last Friday from a single point on Feb. 2.
