Microsoft Joins IBM, Oracle With 21st-Century Stock Gain
Microsoft Corp. joined an exclusive club Friday, when its shares moved higher for the 21st century. The world’s largest software maker followed International Business Machines Corp. and Oracle Corp. in achieving this milestone. They are the only stocks to advance among the S&P 500 Index’s 10 largest technology companies at the end of 1999 that remain publicly traded, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
