Is Apple the Next Kinder Morgan or Fox for Buffett?
Apple Inc. became Warren Buffett’s newest equity investment in the first quarter, when his Berkshire Hathaway Inc. bought about 9.8 million shares of the iPhone maker. Kinder Morgan Inc. previously held that distinction, and the gas-pipeline owner’s shares surged after Berkshire first bought a stake in last year’s fourth quarter. The performance of other new stock purchases made by Buffett’s company since 2014 is spottier, as 21st Century Fox Inc. and Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. fell.
